Kyoichi left home and is finally on his own, living in a beat-up apartment in Tokyo. However, this apartment building is home to some out-of-the-ordinary residents, who are always bugging Kyoichi. His next-door neighbor hits Kyoichi up for a loan when he finds out that Kyoichi just got paid. Kyoichi comes home from his part-time job as a night-time security guard. He returns to his room to find a girl sleeping on his bed-a girl he has never seen before. She looks a bit older than Kyoichi, and is quite beautiful. Kyoichi can't believe his eyes.

Kyoichi closes the door, and goes outside to the entrance of the apartment, to make sure he's in the right apartment and room. There's no mistake. He returns inside...but the girl is gone. There's nobody in his room. Was it just his imagination? Was he hallucinating? Kyoichi can't understand what just happened.

Later, he discovers that something is missing from his grocery bag-the Chinese noodles he was looking forward to eating are gone...

This is how Kyoichi first meets Surumi Kataoka. After they meet, Surumi continues living in Kyoichi's room.

She points to an apartment visible from Kyoichi's room, and says that the guy living there dumped her for another girl. Surumi says that she's waiting to check out the girl she was dumped for. Kyoichi doesn't know if he ought to believe her or not.

All Kyoichi knows is that while Surumi is such a charming girl, the expression on her face is sad at times.

An announcement about their "relationship," out of the blue! More than that, this top star's boyfriend is just your typical salaried worker!! What does Kirishima have up her sleeve as she hides behind her intrepid smile?!

Nakata obviously has no idea about what happened at the press conference. He also doesn't know what lies ahead for him at work, and about Hikaruko's true intentions.

Summary: Shomuni 2 is a sequel from Shomuni, a popular comedic drama serial. It continues where it left off when the female employees from GA-2, deemed "the graveyard of all female employees" for its inane daily job routines of changing light bulbs, used toilet rolls and organising flower appreciation nights, saved the company in the final episode of Shomuni.

However, Manpan Corporation has changed. The multi-national company is now run in a totalitarian fashion. Closed circuit cameras are placed in every nook and cranny of the company to monitor the daily routines of employees. Even the basins in the toilets are not spared (though, obviously, the cubicles are) from scrutiny. This is a result of the Personnel Department, led by the evil Terasaki and Nonomura, who are (again) seeking to find a reason to save up on company budget.

GA-2 was dissolved before the start of the first episode, and its employees were out-sourced to other subsidiary companies. Tokunaga Azusa, the oldest (and only one single married) female employee in GA-2, is working as a caddy at a golf club. Maruhashi Ume, the most ambitious member of GA-2, works at a fast food joint. Miyashita Kana, the "company executive killer", is an interior garden designer at a tycoon's house. Tsukahara Sawako, the most incompetent of GA-2 employees, is now a traffic warden for a construction firm. Himukai Rie, the part-time fortune teller, now works at a bridal shop, and finally, Tsuboi Chinatsu, the "de facto" leader of GA-2, is now working at a fish market.

GA-2 Section Chief Inoue is the only member from GA-2 still working at Manpan, but he has been posted to a mundane office job and is due to retire in an Early Retirement Scheme.

The Personnel Department, well aware of the vicious backlash the new totalitarian measures have generated, decide to pass all the 'credit' to Kamiya, a naive and enthusiastic university undergraduate. He becomes a pariah to the company in the eyes of every one of his co-workers, and he cannot understand why.

While inviting the employees of GA-2 for his farewell party, Inoue speaks of the current situation in Manpan to the GA-2 employees. They are shocked at the way things have become at Manpan, and, to true GA-2 nature, it is not the company that they are interested in. The GA-2 employees hatch a plan to make the executives (advised by the Personnel Department) take back all of the measures initiated, as well as all of the employees that they have out-sourced.

Summary
: The stories revolve around the Office Ladies of General Affairs department 2 (Shomu ni, or GA-2) in a large multinational company called Manpan Corporation.

GA-2 is called "the graveyard for female office ladies", simply because it is the place where female employees are dumped should they mess up big time elsewhere. Jobs include replacing used toilet rolls, changing light-bulbs, organizing company outings among other menial stuff. As an added incentive, their department is located in the nether regions of the company - in the basement, and is in fact a disused store room.

This is done in the hope these errant - or simply useless - employees will quit (and typically people last three days at most) due to the monotonous and meaningless nature of the job tasks, just so that the company, headed by sex-crazed executives and a Personnel Department willing to stoop to any means, will save on the costs of firing them.

As the drama serial progresses, it is evident that these seemingly lowly employees have their own pride despite them being the most despised of female employees, and in every episode, they end up saving the company from a potential catastrophe, inadvertently or otherwise, and usually to back up their own selfish agenda.

Summary
: Based on the hit comic book by Tomoko Ninomiya, this is a fun-filled quirky romantic story of 2 very opposite people.

Megumi Noda, or “Nodame” is a piano student at Momogaoka College of Music. An extremely talented pianist who wants to be a kindergarten teacher, she prefers playing by ear rather than reading the music score. She is messy and disorganized, takes baths several days apart and loves to eat, sometimes stealing her friend’s lunchbox when it is filled with delicacies.

Shinichi Chiaki, is Momogaoka’s top student. Born into a musical family, he is talented in piano and violin and has secret ambitions to become a conductor. An arrogant multi-lingual perfectionist who once lived abroad in the music capitals of the world as a young boy, he feels mired in Japan because of a childhood phobia.

They meet by accident. Nodame quickly falls in love, but it takes much longer for Chiaki to even begin to appreciate Nodame’s unusual qualities. Their relationship causes them both to develop and grow. Because of Nodame, Chiaki transfers into the Conductor Division, leads a student orchestra and begins to have a broader appreciation of people's musical abilities. Because of Chiaki, Nodame faces her fears and enters a piano competition. Opportunities open up as both begin taking risks, stretching themselves far more than they ever thought possible.

Summary
: A story of pure love between the son of a man who runs a ship repair factory beset with financial troubles and the well-bred daughter of a national jewelry chain store owner. The backdrop of the story is Yokohama.

If you feel you have lost the purity of your soul by watching stories about womanizers seducing impudent women, or by carrying out calculated maneuvers in your own love life, here is a story for you. A boy and a girl from highly different social backgrounds meet and fall in love. Their love, of course, faces a lot of obstacles. The setting is in Yokohama, a modern port city known for its romantic atmosphere. Hiroto Kanzaki (Kazuya Kamenashi) works hard every day and night for the survival of a small ship repair factory (inherited from his father) as well as the survival of his mother and younger brother, who is suffering from health problems. Living such underprivileged life, Hiroto has forgotten how to smile. In contrast to him, Nao (Haruka Ayase) is the daughter of a popular jewelry shop owner in a fashionable street in Yokohama. She attends a prestigious exclusive women's college and grew up cheerful and blessed with affluent love. From the moment Hiroto meets her, his closed mind slowly opens up to Nao, who is so innocent that she utters whatever she thinks. Their three close friends, who are also 20 years old's, play an important role in their developing relationship.

The scriptwriter is Eriko Kitagawa, who earned the nickname "The Goddess of Love Stories." This classic love story enables those who are in the same generation to feel empathy, or be envious of the characters' lives; and the rest, who were once 20 years old's, to reminisce about their own "Love of My Life."

Summary: I've seen 5 different Monkey King adaptation but I'll just stick to the TVB ones. In terms of story and plot this adaption is the weakess that TVB has produced, the first Journey to the West also by Dicky Cheung is by far the best one and Journey to the West II is not too bad as well. I too felt Journey to the West III is a bit rush and basically rehashing the story from number 1 & 2 together.

However, the characters in this adaption is certainly amusing and probably the most fun out of the 3 series and of course all the star power especially the addition of the Twins certainly attracted the younger viewers. I think the first 2 focused more on the morale of the Journey and talks a lot about budism and this one had a lot less...I mean this one had Monkey King in a romance!! While this is fun it certainly deviated a lot from the intention of the Journey to the West story and I think that made it weaker. Having said all that I watched it for the Twins.

Summary: It all begins in the early 1900s, in the province of Dong Bei. At that time, in Ha Er Bin, Lu Zhen Hua was a great general, known to people as the brave Hei Pao Zi, "The Black Leopard". Fu Wen Pei was a common girl who came from a intellectual family. At one occasion on the street, she accidentally falls right before Lu Zhen Hua. What was a split second meeting turned into a lifelong commitment when Lu Zhen Hua quickly demanded that she would be his eighth wife and the wedding was held the very next day. A year soon past and Lu Zhen Hua meets another girl, this one by the name of Wang Xue Qin. She was soon brought into the family as well, as Lu Zhen Hua’s ninth and last wife...

Many years has passed, Lu Zhen Hua is now a man living in the shadows of his past. His whole family had been left in Dong Bei when they moved to Shanghai, and the only remaining are his eight and ninth wife with their children. Lu Er Hao, Lu Ru Ping, Lu Meng Ping and Lu Er Jie belonging to Xue Qin. And Lu Yi Ping belonging to Wen Pei.

One fine day, He Shu Huan and Du Fei, two daring reporters encounter Ru Ping during an exciting chase. She helps them upon request and later finds out that they’re friends of her brother Lu Er Hao. Little did Shu Huan know that in the short meeting, Lu Ru Ping had already fallen deeply in love with him.

Six months later, on a rainy night, it was time for Lu Yi Ping to go and collect her monthly allowance from her father. Because for five years ago, soon after the family had arrived in Shanghai, Wen Pei along with Yi Ping were kicked out of the large residence of Lu Zhen Hua. They were then forced to live in poverty with the small allowance of twenty dollars per month. That night, Yi Ping became desperate and wanted more money because she and her mother couldn’t live on twenty dollars alone anymore. After some struggle, Lu Zhen Hua resorted to violence and used a horsewhip to whip Yi Ping while the whole family in the residence watched this all happen. Stubborn and strong-willed, Yi Ping declared that she was no longer part of the family and vowed revenge on them all. At that same night Yi Ping bumps into Shu Huan, but rejects him when she finds out that he is a friend of "family of that side", as she refers to the family in the residence. What she unknowingly leaves behind is a longing and curiosity in Shu Huan’s heart.

The story is of how Yi Ping tries to take revenge for her mother’s sufferings and her, while torn between trying to find the meaning of love and forgiveness in her disfigured world. It is a story of the love that she and Shu Huan grew, under the most pressured and difficult circumstances. A story of Shu Huan’s dedication to patiently teach love and forgiveness to Yi Ping. It is a story of a father’s harsh relationship with his unwanted daughter and how it is rekindled. It is a story of an impossible crush, that somehow became reality. It is a story of a wife, forever faithful to her husband, and another’s unfaithfulness. As a whole it’s story of true love, compassion, revenge, lust, family, relationships, war, victory, friendship, respect, secrets, lies, deception, forgiveness, power, good, evil and much more.

In a hurry, she rushed off without apologizing. Much to her dismay, that guy was Quan. Liking that Rui Xi is rather straightforward, Jin Xiu Yi, the school soccer star, befriends Rui Xi.

During a P.E. lesson, everyone was shocked to discover that Rui Xi was a very fast runner, even breaking the school's record held by Xiu Yi. A jealous Xiu Yi challenges her to a soccer match. During the match, she faints after getting hit at the head by Xiu Yi's elbow when he finally snatched the ball from her. Quan comes to her rescue (and finds out that she is REALLY A GIRL but keeps it to himself) and he brings her to the school's doctor, Mei Tian, who is a gay. He too, finds out about Rui Xi's identity but promises to keep it a secret. He soon became her counselor when she needed someone to talk to. Xiu Yi soon falls in love with Rui Xi, but doesn't know that Rui Xi is a girl and believes that he, himself, is gay.

Quan and Rui Xi soon become friends and begin to develop a very close friendship. Many mishaps and challenges await Rui Xi. Will she be able to get through high school perfectly, without anyone discovering that she's a girl, but at the same time stay close to Quan?

: For once, something a little fresh, at least by K-Drama standards. We're talking body exchange, which has been done many times on the big screen, but rarely on Korean TV. The idea of Park Jin-Hee playing an Ajumma and Shim Hye-Jin going into sexy mode sounds just about right (the initial setup is the opposite, obviously), and if the script builds on the interesting outline, this could be fun.

Genre: Drama, School

Summary: Yuki Amami plays Maya Akutsu, a sixth-grade teacher who dresses all in black and is repeatedly referred to as "oni sensei" (the teacher from hell), when, in fact, she seems to be an ultrarealist at heart. The drama focuses on a year in her classroom and, particularly, the effect it has on 12-year-old Kazumi--a nice but mediocre student whose parents want to send her to a private secondary school.

Akutsu-sensei accomplished this feat by introducing a test-based rank and privilege system on the first day. The highest scorers on the Monday morning test get their choice of seats and other perks while the two lowest scorers are burdened with all the chores for the week from blackboard and toilet cleaning to serving lunch. The system also disallows toilet breaks during class because this reflects an inability to manage one's own schedule.

Kazumi gets the first week's work assignment along with the class clown, a warmhearted boy who is not nearly as silly as he acts. The child actors in the series are all likeable pros who give realistic portrayals of the wide spectrum of an average classroom from the isolated serious students to the sophisticated girls who think they already know what life is all about. Akutsu-sensei lets them know immediately that they do not have a clue.

When the students protest her system and call it unfair, she tells them to open their eyes. In Japanese society, she lectures, those who work hard or have influence get all the privileges, and the lazy or less affluent end up with the leftovers. She says only six in 100 people can expect to be happy and the elite already have most of the advantages and access to the best medical care. She tells them that, as products of the public school system, they will have to scramble to get anything at all, and most of them will end up as "bonjin" (ordinary people), to whom those on the top will be happy to leave the soldiering and service-sector jobs.

Unfortunately, even living inside Xiao Long Nu's cave can't prevent the outside world from interfering with their training and blossoming love. Li Mou Chou, Xiao Long Nu's martial sister, returns seeking their sect's greatest skill, The Jade Heart Manual. Li Mou Chou forces the couple out of the cave and into the outside world where Yang Guo learns that the person responsible for his father's death is the leader of the Beggar Clan, his aunt Huang Rong. Summary: Here's one restaurant where hunks with distinctive personalities put their hearts and souls into cooking.

Natsumi, who works in a cafe, loves lunchtime. In fact, nothing excites her more than walking down the street thinking where she'll eat lunch at.

One day, a man by the name of Kennichiro suddenly interrupts Natsumi as she is savoring her favorite rice omelet. He pulls the furious Natsumi out of the restaurant and begs her to come home with him so that he can introduce her to his family. He explains to her that his father is sick, and since leaving home two years ago after a big fight, the only way he can return home is if he has a fiancee with him.

Kennichiro's father Kenzo and 3 younger brothers - Yuujiro, Junzaburo, and Koshiro - run a restaurant called "Kitchen Macaroni." Also working at the restaurant are Mamoru, a chef; and Minoru, a live-in apprentice cook.

As Kennichiro and Natsumi approach the restaurant, Kennichiro asks Natsumi to go in alone and check out what is happening inside. Natsumi reluctantly enters alone. As she takes a look around, she sees Koshiro talking to Tomato Shiomi, who works at the nearby grocery store called "Shiomi." Kennichiro's other brothers are working in the kitchen. Next she spots Kenzo, who according to Kennichiro is supposed to be ill. Naturally, Natsumi can't believe how irresponsible Kennichiro is for telling such lies. While she is thinking this, the omelet that she ordered arrives. She takes one bite out of it, and as she smiles, the next thing out of her mouth is, "delicious!" A short time after, Kennichiro walks into the restaurant, and his brother Yujiro grabs him and starts lecturing him for showing his face. Natsumi breaks them apart, but senses Kennichiro isn't appreciated there.

Summary: This is a great comedy drama about Kyung Min and Jung Eun who live together in a "house above the roof" (literal translation of "okh tap bang"). This drama has got to be the best k-drama of 2003 for me as it brings in such a refreshing and lively plot that is realistic at the same time. This drama has so many cute and funny moments that there had been many times when I caught myself laughing uncontrollably at the attics of Kyung Min and Jung Eun, watching the drama alone in my room.

Kyung Min and Jung Eun plays very cute characters in here which makes them the most adorable couple. Kyung Min plays an irresponsible player in the drama who is full of mischief, flirtatious with the girls and can be a total jerk at times. However, the drama progresses with Kyung Min slowly stepping out of his immaturity as he discovers his new found affection towards Jung Eun. The drama explores realistic scenes of two people living together, their hardship, friendship and eventual love that developed. I love the hundred adorable expressions by Kyung Min and Jung Eun which makes this drama one of my favorites for 2003. Though a light and comedic drama, it is not without the melodramatic element that makes this a worthwhile drama to watch. The acting of both lead actors bring in the appropriate chemistry, with hilarious moments coupled with emotional scenes all in one.

Summary
: Naoko Noda, who works in a trading company, is called “anego” by her younger co-workers. What is “anego”? It means “older sister,” but in this case it is given as a nickname to Naoko because she is like a big sister to her coworkers, who depend on her to give them advice about everything.

This drama, based on a popular novel, depicts realistically how Naoko lives her everyday life, including her love life, the problems she faces, and her uneasiness about the future. Naoko, 32, works in the corporate strategy division. She is single, and has been working hard for 10 years, now she often finds herself in the role of training and guiding the younger female workers. Recently she realizes that most of the temporary and contracted workers’ goals are to find an elite male employee within the company to marry. Naoko also hopes that the man of her dreams, a prince on a white horse will one day come into her life, but it seems like her younger co-workers are always the ones who win the hearts of all the elite men.

One day, on the way home from work, a handsome man saves Naoko from a drunk man who was bothering her, but she sees the wedding ring on his finger, and feels the emptiness of being single. One day, Naoko goes out to play golf with the general manager and other co-workers, and there she unexpectedly meets her former co-worker, Eriko Sawaki. Eriko seems to have a picture-perfect life; she is married to a company president, and already has one child. Naoko gets distracted by Eriko and the happy atmosphere around her, and ends up with a terrible golf score. After finishing the round, Eriko’s husband comes to pick her up, and Naoko is surprised when she sees his face. Eriko’s husband is the handsome man who saved her from the drunk man. Naoko’s heart starts pounding, and she can’t help but envy Eriko’s happy life.

When working women reach their 30s, they start to worry about various things; “How long should I continue working for this company?”, “Will I marry the man I am dating?” “If I continue living like this what will I do when I grow old?” etc. In this drama, the main character, who is a 32-year old single woman working at a prestigious trading company, suddenly finds herself as one of the elders at the office, being a big sister to her younger co-workers. From the outside, it seems like she is a happy and successful businesswoman, but inside she is insecure and worried about her future. This drama, through the main character, portrays the everyday life of working women realistically; what they are really thinking, the problems they face, and how they do their best to survive in this world.

Genre: Family, Drama

Episodes: 16

Playlist COMPLETE and PRIVATE as of Nov. 18, 2006

Summary: Choi Jang Soo, a powerful detective, is devoting his limited-time life to the happiness of his wife and two children after he receives the sentence. This drama stands apart from previous dramas by reminding viewers of the importance of strong family ties through its main character, an Alzheimer’s-stricken detective Choi Jang-soo. Jang-soo decides to do his best to make his family happy after he learns that he has little time left to live. Portrayed by top stars, Chae Si-ra (who plays So-young) and Yoo Oh-sung (who plays Jang-soo), the main characters of the drama depict a true-to-life story of a married couple: a wife who holds several jobs to buy a home and her sly yet lovely husband. The couple goes through a challenging time when fund manager Jun-ho, who has loved So-young for a long time, and ex-criminal Hyun-soo, who loves Jang-soo, appear in their lives. The portrayals of Jun-ho by actor Cho Yun-woo and of Hyun-soo by Choi Yeo-jin are quite impressive. The drama honestly depicts the everyday reality of fathers who have no other choice but to neglect their families to earn the living and mothers who turn into stouthearted “warriors” who can do anything for the sake of their families.
