Summary: Yamaguchi Chikako (30) is a woman who's longing for love and marriage. Because of her 30 years of age, she's finding it more difficult to find a man who will marry her. Her brother Taku (22), who's still attending law school, hangs out with his best friend Kengo (22) and his girlfriend Asami (19). Kengo is in love with Chikako, but she keeps turning him down (who would want to date a man eight years her junior?)

Hanae (51), Chikako's mother, is also looking for love, seeing she's not getting it from her husband Mitsuru (51). With both Chikako and Taku grown up and basically self-sufficient, Hanae finds herself alone, "over the hill" and un-attractive.

Within the first episode alone, the entire storyline is set in place. At the local gym, Chikako meets up with Izaki Shun (43), an advertising executive. Right out of the gate, she's in love with Shun. Outside of the gym, she asks Shun to marry her. Shun immediately responds her with a NO. He didn't even think about it!

The next day, Shun visits a bento shop, where he runs into Hanae. Hanae manages the shop. Shun is intriqued by Hanae, so he asks her out to dinner. A bowl of shark fin soup for dinner at a fancy restaurant, and by the end of the night she's counting ceiling tiles.

What makes the story interesting is that Hanae has no knowledge of Chikako's relationship with Shun, and Chikako doesn't know that Hanae is having an affair with Shun. But like other Japanese dramas, a town is only so small, right?

Toshishita no Otoko is about older women who are seeking purpose in their lives. The series is also about a family of four who each keep even the darkest of secrets to themselves, while living under the same roof. When the truth about everything finally surfaces, it's like the old saying: When it rains, it pours!

Summary: The 43rd NHK Taiga Drama is Shinsengumi!. The arrival of Commodore Perry's "Black Ships" rudely awakened Japan from 300 years of peaceful isolation from the world. Men set their eyes beyond Japan and began to demand change in society. Old clashed with the new, and thus began an age of turmoil. Amidst this confusion, one group remained true to the old ways and risked their lives to preserve the traditional shogunate system. Led by their charismatic captain, Kondo Isami, the Shuinsenguim upheld the code of honor of the samurai. Tales abound of the feats of men like Kondo, Hijikata Toshizo, Saito Hajime, and Okita Soji. This NHK taiga drama brings to life the passion and glory of these men who lived during the most turbulent time in Japanese history. Full of pathos, action-packed, this is a series not to be missed by chambara fans.

Summary: The plot is the honest-to-goodness story about the Yang family and their undying loyalty to the country and its useless and selfish emperor. As always, the father, General Yang, is blinded by his loyalty that he is way too strict and wooden with regards to his treatment towards his sons and the mother, Sai Hua, being the only one who stands up for her children. In this serial, the family has seven children, all male. Each son was given their role but the majority of the story revolved around the fourth son, Alec Su, who is the rebel type because he is the one being scolded the most as he has his own ideologies. The story goes on as the family faces the war and one by one, the members faltered. I don't think that I should tackle much regarding the storyline as I believe that those who have read the real story of the Yangs will have more story knowledge than I.

Being 26 is a tough point in life because it's too late to think of new dreams, but on the other hand, it's too late to abandon old ones... One day a lady called Chan Fung Ying saw Tai Bo and thought he was her son. This was very complicated because she thought she had that feeling deep inside her heart and felt 100% sure. Fung Ying's son named Wong Man Dik recently had an argument with Tai Bo, so they were not very fond of each other causing some complications.

Tai Bo lived with his many godbrothers and sisters and was very happy, but he had fallen for his sister Ho Hei. One day Ho Hei and Man Dik met by accident and Ho Hei fell for Man Dik. Man Dik apparently had confessed his love for her in an e-mail. This e-mail was sent to Man Dik by Tai Bo's godbrothers and sisters who wanted to help him out, but Ho Hei had mistaken that it was sent by Man Dik! As Ho Hei told Tai Bo she had fallen for Man Dik, Tai Bo's heart was crushed. He decided to hide his feelings. After Ho Hei and Man Dik had been dating for quite some time, Ho Hei found out Tai Bo's feelings for her and she found it difficult to choose between the two brothers. She was confused over her feelings for them.

Another person in Temple Street named Yiu Chi Wai had a son named Chun Kit. He was very proud and happy about his son. But Kit caused many problems for Temple Street's people behind his dad's back. Tai Bo and Man Dik had to join up together to stop Kit because he had also captured Ho Hei. They decided to work as a team to help Temple
Street before it was too late... The questions lie in our heads.. is Tai Bo actually Fung Ying's real son? Who will Ho Hei choose to be with? Can the two brothers save Temple Street before it is much too later?
