Kyoichi left home and is finally on his own, living in a beat-up apartment in Tokyo. However, this apartment building is home to some out-of-the-ordinary residents, who are always bugging Kyoichi. His next-door neighbor hits Kyoichi up for a loan when he finds out that Kyoichi just got paid. His other next- door neighbor who works at a nightclub, always calls Kyoichi, demanding him to come pick her up, because she's so drunk. Other than that, Kyoichi is satisfied with his normal life, until he meets a girl one day...

Kyoichi comes home from his part-time job as a night-time security guard. He returns to his room to find a girl sleeping on his bed-a girl he has never seen before. She looks a bit older than Kyoichi, and is quite beautiful. Kyoichi can't believe his eyes.

Kyoichi closes the door, and goes outside to the entrance of the apartment, to make sure he's in the right apartment and room. There's no mistake. He returns inside...but the girl is gone. There's nobody in his room. Was it just his imagination? Was he hallucinating? Kyoichi can't understand what just happened.

Later, he discovers that something is missing from his grocery bag-the Chinese noodles he was looking forward to eating are gone...

This is how Kyoichi first meets Surumi Kataoka. After they meet, Surumi continues living in Kyoichi's room.

She points to an apartment visible from Kyoichi's room, and says that the guy living there dumped her for another girl. Surumi says that she's waiting to check out the girl she was dumped for. Kyoichi doesn't know if he ought to believe her or not.

All Kyoichi knows is that while Surumi is such a charming girl, the expression on her face is sad at times.

Kyoichi is not that disappointed about sharing his room with a cute girl. He starts to think that this lifestyle may go on forever, until one day, Surumi suddenly disappears-just like the day she suddenly appeared. All she leaves for Kyoichi are unanswered questions.

Several days later, Kirishima calls an emergency press conference.

And there she announces..."I am now dating a gentleman by the name of Sosuke Nakata, a salaried worker, whom I intend to marry."

An announcement about their "relationship," out of the blue! More than that, this top star's boyfriend is just your typical salaried worker!! What does Kirishima have up her sleeve as she hides behind her intrepid smile?!

Nakata obviously has no idea about what happened at the press conference. He also doesn't know what lies ahead for him at work, and about Hikaruko's true intentions.

This story, a somewhat funny, but romantic love story, follows the footsteps of a man and woman from very different worlds, as they experience the painful and sometimes remarkable ups and downs of love.

Summary: Shomuni 2 is a sequel from Shomuni, a popular comedic drama serial. It continues where it left off when the female employees from GA-2, deemed "the graveyard of all female employees" for its inane daily job routines of changing light bulbs, used toilet rolls and organising flower appreciation nights, saved the company in the final episode of Shomuni.

However, Manpan Corporation has changed. The multi-national company is now run in a totalitarian fashion. Closed circuit cameras are placed in every nook and cranny of the company to monitor the daily routines of employees. Even the basins in the toilets are not spared (though, obviously, the cubicles are) from scrutiny. This is a result of the Personnel Department, led by the evil Terasaki and Nonomura, who are (again) seeking to find a reason to save up on company budget.

GA-2 was dissolved before the start of the first episode, and its employees were out-sourced to other subsidiary companies. Tokunaga Azusa, the oldest (and only one single married) female employee in GA-2, is working as a caddy at a golf club. Maruhashi Ume, the most ambitious member of GA-2, works at a fast food joint. Miyashita Kana, the "company executive killer", is an interior garden designer at a tycoon's house. Tsukahara Sawako, the most incompetent of GA-2 employees, is now a traffic warden for a construction firm. Himukai Rie, the part-time fortune teller, now works at a bridal shop, and finally, Tsuboi Chinatsu, the "de facto" leader of GA-2, is now working at a fish market.

GA-2 Section Chief Inoue is the only member from GA-2 still working at Manpan, but he has been posted to a mundane office job and is due to retire in an Early Retirement Scheme.

The Personnel Department, well aware of the vicious backlash the new totalitarian measures have generated, decide to pass all the 'credit' to Kamiya, a naive and enthusiastic university undergraduate. He becomes a pariah to the company in the eyes of every one of his co-workers, and he cannot understand why.

While inviting the employees of GA-2 for his farewell party, Inoue speaks of the current situation in Manpan to the GA-2 employees. They are shocked at the way things have become at Manpan, and, to true GA-2 nature, it is not the company that they are interested in. The GA-2 employees hatch a plan to make the executives (advised by the Personnel Department) take back all of the measures initiated, as well as all of the employees that they have out-sourced.

Summary
: The stories revolve around the Office Ladies of General Affairs department 2 (Shomu ni, or GA-2) in a large multinational company called Manpan Corporation.

GA-2 is called "the graveyard for female office ladies", simply because it is the place where female employees are dumped should they mess up big time elsewhere. Jobs include replacing used toilet rolls, changing light-bulbs, organizing company outings among other menial stuff. As an added incentive, their department is located in the nether regions of the company - in the basement, and is in fact a disused store room.

This is done in the hope these errant - or simply useless - employees will quit (and typically people last three days at most) due to the monotonous and meaningless nature of the job tasks, just so that the company, headed by sex-crazed executives and a Personnel Department willing to stoop to any means, will save on the costs of firing them.

As the drama serial progresses, it is evident that these seemingly lowly employees have their own pride despite them being the most despised of female employees, and in every episode, they end up saving the company from a potential catastrophe, inadvertently or otherwise, and usually to back up their own selfish agenda.

Summary
: Based on the hit comic book by Tomoko Ninomiya, this is a fun-filled quirky romantic story of 2 very opposite people.

Megumi Noda, or “Nodame” is a piano student at Momogaoka College of Music. An extremely talented pianist who wants to be a kindergarten teacher, she prefers playing by ear rather than reading the music score. She is messy and disorganized, takes baths several days apart and loves to eat, sometimes stealing her friend’s lunchbox when it is filled with delicacies.

Shinichi Chiaki, is Momogaoka’s top student. Born into a musical family, he is talented in piano and violin and has secret ambitions to become a conductor. An arrogant multi-lingual perfectionist who once lived abroad in the music capitals of the world as a young boy, he feels mired in Japan because of a childhood phobia.

They meet by accident. Nodame quickly falls in love, but it takes much longer for Chiaki to even begin to appreciate Nodame’s unusual qualities. Their relationship causes them both to develop and grow. Because of Nodame, Chiaki transfers into the Conductor Division, leads a student orchestra and begins to have a broader appreciation of people's musical abilities. Because of Chiaki, Nodame faces her fears and enters a piano competition. Opportunities open up as both begin taking risks, stretching themselves far more than they ever thought possible.
